This 28-page zine features calligraphy and portraits of real seniors by teenage artists. Also includes:

  • Local and world maps of places of belonging
  • 7 portraits of local seniors
  • 23 artworks with statements of belonging

The artworks were created in workshops with the Teen Leadership program at the Palo Alto Art Center (Palo Alto) and Eastside College Preparatory School (East Palo Alto), some of whom interviewed older adults at Avenidas.

I developed this zine and project as an artist-in-residence at the Palo Alto Art Center (PAAC). Learn more.

The residency was supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the National Endowment for the Arts.
